In order to evaluate the status of the autumn-sown sugar beet cultivars, Dr. Taleghani, General Director of Sugar Beet Seed Institute (SBSI), accompanied by the researchers of Sugar Beet Research Department of Fars Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center, visited sugar beet fields in Rostam, Nurabad and Kazerun cities and also Sheshdeh and Qarabolagh districts. 

Sugar beet fields cultivated with the Iranian cultivar called Homa were also visited, and the status of this cultivar was satisfactory compared with other cultivars. Also, experimental projects were visited and the promising hybrids were evaluated in terms of growth, uniformity and resistance to bolting.
