In order to evaluate the feasibility of fodder beet cultivation, fodder beet trials and pilot fields were visited by Dr. Sadeghi-Shoa and other researchers in Mazandaran province. Results of comparing 8 cultivars in Farim and Parim regions showed that fodder beet can be cultivated in autumn under dryland condition and that root yield of up to 80 tons per hectare was evident among cultivars. A joint research project between SBSI and the Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University as well as the pilot field of autumn-sown fodder beet among the rows of citrus orchards with an area of 0.8 hectare in Gorjipor village of Farahabad district, was also visited.
