In order to evaluate the autumn-sown sugar beet fields in Golestan province, Dr. Taleghani, General Director of SBSI, accompanied by Mr. Hesadi and Mr. Hosseini visited the sugar beet fields at harvest stage. They also visited sugar beet fields in Kalaleh, Galikesh, Minoodasht, and Gorgan. A meeting of the technical committee for sugar beet harvest was held at Agricultural Jahad Organization of Golestan province, and Mr. Mahghani gave a report on the status of autumn-sown sugar beet in the province. Dr. Taleghani addressed the importance of planting date, and the use of tolerant cultivars to bolting in early plantings. He also made suggestions on providing the necessary training to the contractors regarding the proper harvest time and preventing the occurrence of root rot.
